The deadline looks wrong
The common reasons a cancellation deadline does not match your contract, and how to correct it.
A cancellation deadline is calculated from two inputs: the Next renewal date and the Notice days. When a deadline looks wrong, one of those inputs is almost always the cause.
Find the cause
Open the subscription and compare the Details and Auto-renewal clause panels with your contract.
| What you notice | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The renewal date is wrong | The document had an old or unclear date | Correct Next renewal in Details and click Save |
| The notice period is wrong or missing | The clause was misread, or the notice is in another document | Correct Notice days and click Save & confirm |
| The deadline is a year later than expected | The window for the next renewal had already closed, so QuietBill shows the following one | Check the “(renews …)” date in the clause panel. See Cancellation deadline vs renewal date |
| The renewal date is empty | The document’s date could be read two ways, for example 05/04/2027 | QuietBill leaves such dates empty rather than guessing. Enter Next renewal yourself |
| It says Estimated | It comes from the vendor’s public terms, and your negotiated terms may differ | Confirm or correct it. See Estimated deadlines |
| It does not move on after renewal | The Cycle is Unknown | Set Cycle in Details |
| It is a few days off from your own count | QuietBill counts calendar days | If your contract counts business days, or needs notice received rather than sent, give notice earlier |
After you correct it
- The deadline is recalculated straight away and shown in the clause panel.
- Reminders follow the new date. If someone had chosen We’re keeping it, that decision applied to the old date, so the new deadline gets reminders again.
- A clause you saved is marked confirmed, and later documents will not change it.
If several documents disagree
A later document never overwrites a value QuietBill was more sure about, and never touches a confirmed clause. If the newest contract has different terms, enter them by hand and click Save & confirm.
