Stop reminders for a deadline
Use "We're keeping it" or "I've cancelled this" to record your decision and stop the remaining reminders for a deadline.
Once you have decided what to do about a renewal, tell QuietBill and the remaining reminders for that deadline stop. There are two choices, both in the Cancellation assistant at the top of the subscription page.
| You decided to | Click | What stops | What happens next term |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renew it | We’re keeping it | Reminders for this deadline only | Reminders return for next term’s deadline |
| Cancel it | I’ve cancelled this | All reminders for this subscription | Nothing, unless you reactivate it |
Keep a subscription for this term
- Open the subscription.
- In the Cancellation assistant, click We’re keeping it.
The panel shows a Keeping it badge and “You’re keeping it this term. No more reminders for the date deadline.”
What this does:
- No more reminder emails, Slack posts or browser notifications for this deadline. A reminder already on its way is dropped.
- In the calendar feed, the deadline is renamed “Keeping: Cancel-by deadline: Vendor” and has no calendar reminder.
- When the term renews and the next deadline is calculated, its reminders start again on their own. You do not need to undo anything.
- If the deadline changes (for example you edit the renewal date or notice period), the new deadline gets reminders again.
We’re keeping it is not offered for an Estimated deadline (confirm the terms first) or for a deadline that has already passed.
Undo it
Click Undo, keep reminding me. Reminders for the current deadline resume. If you later cancel after all, click I cancelled it after all.
Mark a subscription as cancelled
- Send your notice to the vendor. The assistant drafts it for you. See Cancel a subscription.
- Click I’ve cancelled this.
The subscription is marked Canceled. It no longer gets any reminders, no longer counts toward your spend, and disappears from the Calendar page and the calendar feed. It stays in your subscription list and exports.
To undo it, open the subscription and click Reactivate.
The I’ve cancelled this button only appears when the assistant knows a deadline or shows Cancel anytime. For any other subscription, set Status to Canceled in the Details panel and click Save. The effect is the same.
Note: Marking a subscription cancelled in QuietBill does not cancel it with the vendor. Only your notice to the vendor does that.
