Edit a subscription
Correct the vendor, plan, category, price, seats, billing cycle, renewal date or status of a subscription.
Everything QuietBill reads from a document can be corrected by hand, and your edits are kept: a later document never overwrites what you typed.
Edit the details
- Open the subscription from Home or Subscriptions.
- In the Details panel, change any of these fields:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Vendor | The name shown everywhere in QuietBill. |
| Plan | The vendor’s plan name, for example “Business”. |
| Category | Pick from the fixed list. Used to spot overlapping tools. |
| Amount | The price per billing cycle, in the subscription’s currency. |
| Seats | The number of seats or users, if known. |
| Cycle | Monthly, Annual, Quarterly, Biennial or Unknown. |
| Next renewal | The date the next term starts. The cancellation deadline is calculated from it. |
| Status | Active, Trialing, Canceled or Dormant. |
- Click Save. The button is only active once something has changed.
Important: Next renewal and Cycle drive the cancellation deadline. If either is wrong, the deadline is wrong. After saving, check the deadline in the Auto-renewal clause panel.
About each status
- Active: a running subscription. It counts toward spend and gets reminders.
- Trialing: a trial of the vendor’s product. Trial-end reminders go out before it converts.
- Canceled: stops all reminders and removes it from spend and calendars. The easiest way to set this is I’ve cancelled this in the cancellation assistant.
- Dormant: a label for a tool you think is unused. Deadline reminders still go out, so you can still act on it.
What you cannot change here
- The currency comes from the document and cannot be edited in the app.
- There is no delete button. To stop tracking a subscription, mark it cancelled. It stays in your history and exports.
- To add a subscription, add a document for it. There is no form to create one by hand.
